Jivika | Kantha Quilt
Falak – our Celestial Kantha Quilt, named after the Urdu word for the sky. A vibrant and intricate piece that carries the beauty of nature and geometry stitched into every detail.
On one side, Falak unfolds with a striking geometric canvas in varying shades of blue, scattered with bright yellow sunflower-like flowers that seem to dance across the surface. A thick pale yellow border frames the design, offering a beautiful contrast that highlights the vibrancy of the quilt. Look closer and you’ll notice how the kantha stitching itself forms diamond shapes, adding depth, texture, and a subtle rhythm to the piece.
The reverse offers a softer, earthy palette. A pale green background is adorned with large, vibrant orange and purple flowers spread across a thin, delicate green pattern. The yellow kantha stitching from the other side peeks through, forming a network of soft diamond shapes that tie both sides together. A stunning garden-green border, filled with floral motifs, frames the quilt and adds another layer of charm and richness, running slightly off-centre for a beautiful, handmade feel.
Falak is a quilt that captures the feeling of endless skies, fields in bloom, and the quiet artistry of generations past. Whether used as a bedspread, a cosy throw, or simply admired for its craftsmanship, Falak brings light, colour, and character to any space.
